Rare Giallo Modena over Charcoal colour combination

Following the introduction of the Ferrari 550 Maranello, which signalled a return to the company’s roots, it was only natural for Ferrari to follow up the regular production coupé with a limited-production convertible. In the spirit of the Daytona Spider, the 550 Barchetta was meant to make the driving experience of the 550 Maranello platform even more desirable. Fitted with a shorter and more aggressively raked windshield, two-piece alloy wheels, an aluminium fuel-filler cap, and a re-styled boot that was, surprisingly, larger than that of the coupé, it recalled many great Ferrari barchettas and spiders of the past.
Completed by the factory in October 2001 and delivered new to France the following month, chassis 124291 is the 313th example produced. It was delivered new through Charles Pozzi of Paris to its first owner in Linas and was finished in a seldom seen colour combination of Giallo Modena (4305 D.S.) over a stunning Charcoal leather interior. Currently, the odometer is showing just under 7,950 kilometres from new, making it one of the lowest-mileage examples available. It remains in good condition overall, with only minor signs of wear requisite for a car of this age.
Marking the rebirth of Ferrari’s drop-top, front-engine V-12, the 550 Barchetta is one of the most celebrated Ferraris of the earliest 21st century and a wonderful driving automobile in every right. For many tifosi, there is nothing better than the thrill of driving a V-12 mated to a six-speed manual transmission and combined with the experience of open-air motoring. The 550 Barchetta has quickly proven to be a true modern-day collectible, as it combines modern speed and performance with the feel and charisma of a vintage Ferrari. Considering its low mileage and rare colour combination, this would make a thrilling and unique addition to any significant collection.
