One of those fans, a Texan by the name of Carroll Shelby, spent most of his life building a well-deserved reputation for serious performance and record setting speed. And even at the fiery age of 89, he was STILL inspiring enthusiasts to push their creations to the point of borderline unbelievable. It seems only fitting that Ford and Shelby Automobiles would eventually renew their decades abandoned push to dominate the performance car world. And this 2007 GT500 Super Snake, with its supercharged V8, track-tuned suspension and razor-sharp appearance, is a perfect example of why that partnership is a match made in heaven. Wearing a vivid layer of Torch Red 2-stage under sinister Shelby call-outs, this spotless Mustang has seen meticulous care since new. All of the car’s upgrades were performed by Tasca Ford of Cranston, Rhode Island; an outfit that undoubtedly knows how to churn out killer performance machines. And like most of our low-mileage, factory-fresh pieces, its body presents as new in every conceivable way. That body’s shiny, wet-look panels are 100% straight with no history of accidents or damage of any kind. And a close look down the car’s sculpted fuselage reveals world-class finishing that, by far, creates one of the nicest late-model Fords we’ve ever seen!

When up close and personal with Ford’s GT500, it becomes clear the firm’s designers focused on creating a car that looks tailored and substantial in comparison to its “lesser” counterparts. And this killer Mustang, with its high quality body kit, panther-like stance and fully detailed exterior, is about as “substantial” as it gets! At the front of the mean mare, a familiar Mustang grille hangs an offset Cobra emblem between halogen headlights, a carbon fiber splitter and a sculpted front valance that’s complete with traditional fog lamps. At the top of that grille, a pinned Super Snake hood centers a flat LeMans stripe in front of chip-free factory glass. At the base of that glass, carbon fiber rockers anchor capped mirrors between tough Shelby emblems and aggressive side scoops. And behind of those scoops, sequential taillights, a bold trunk script and a GT500-exclusive faux fuel filler reflect a large, trunk-mounted spoiler and an aggressive valance that’s pierced by polished Ford Racing exhaust tips.


Created as a turnkey package for enthusiasts who want a reliably engineered Mustang that unlocks the full potential of Ford’s legendary ‘mod motor’, the top-of-the-line Super Snake utilizes a Kenne Bell twin-screw supercharger to crank out an astonishing 725 horsepower. Front-and-center, the car’s polished blower makes good use of a Kenne Bell cold air induction system, which marries clean aesthetics with excellent efficiency. At the sides of the engine, dynamic SVT coil covers combine with an array of Shelby caps and dipsticks to dress things up a bit. As with all Shelby specialties, this Mustang proudly displays a small Shelby American badge that verifies its authenticity. Aesthetically, the spotless mill features a typical OEM-level appearance that displays hardly any signs of usage. And when you twist the eager engine’s key, you become the lead composer of a veritable orchestra of sinister whines and octane-fueled roars!


As most performance car fans already know, this Mustang’s SVT-tuned suspension is nothing short of excellent. And with a few of Shelby’s aftermarket bolt-ons, it sticks to the corners like the high-speed luge winner at the 2014 Winter Olympics. The firm’s upgrades began with a Shelby/Eibach suspension that straightens the curves, progressed to Shelby/Baer brakes that scrub big speed, and ended with forged Shelby/Alcoa wheels that keep power to the ground. Behind the smooth engine, a slick-shifting Tremec TR6060 6-speed sends power to big, 3.73 gears and a Ford limited-slip differential. At the corners of the car, the aforementioned Baers, which happen to be red-detailed, 6-piston units, squeeze giant drilled and slotted rotors behind standard Shelby brake ducts. Turns come courtesy of Ford’s super-efficient power-assisted steering. Exhaust flows through large-diameter pipes to Ford Racing mufflers and polished Ford Racing tips. Naturally, Ford’s standard ABS and traction control systems are present and accounted for. And all this first class speed and agility rides on the aforementioned Shelby/Alcoa kicks, which spin sticky 255/35ZR20 front and 275/35ZR20 rear Pirelli P Zeros around highly polished spokes.


Inside this Ford, bolstered seats, which feature bright Super Snake insignias, ride opposite a monochromatic, leather-wrapped steering wheel that’s adorned with convenient thumb buttons. The dash is a familiar Mustang layout, which hangs satin-trimmed instruments and a programmable “SVT” shift light beside a tasteful plaque and integrated Shelby accessory gauges. Below that plaque, an optional Shaker 1000 stereo combines MP3 compatibility with a 6-disc CD changer to become a one-stop shop for all your audio entertainment needs. Below that stereo, a short-throw shifter leads an impressive console that’s detailed with a Shelby-branded lid. Beneath that console, rich carpet flows past Shelby-branded floor mats and metal-trimmed foot pedals to “SUPER SNAKE” branded sills. And naturally, all the luxuries you’d expect in a high dollar modern car are ready and waiting including: cruise control, power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, a power driver’s seat and remote keyless entry.
