The Lotus Exige was launched in 2000 and was based on the enormously successful Elise. The early cars used a modified version of the Rover K Series engine. The series 2 version of the Exige was launched in 2004 but it was not until February 2006 that the more desirable S edition hit the market. The S used a supercharged Toyota 1.8 engine that produced a number of different power outputs depending on model ranging from 220bhp to 265bhp.
