The Ferrari 308 GTB was launched at the Paris Motor Show in 1975 as a direct replacement for the Dino 246. Designed by Pininfarina with sweeping curves and aggressive lines the 308 has gone on to become one of the most recognized Ferrari’s of all time. In 1977 the Ferrari 308 GTS was introduced which featured the added benefit of a Black Targa roof panel that could be easily removed and stowed in the cabin behind the seats. Made famous by the TV series “Magnum PI” Fitted with a 2.9 litre DOHC V8 engine with four Webber carburetors that produced 255bhp the 308 went from 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 159 mph.
The Ferrari 308 GTS offered here at Hofmanns is 1981 “W plate” finished in Rosso Corsa with Crema leather interior. Having covered a mere 42,730 miles this stunning example was initially supplied through Cooper Leicester and boasts a comprehensive service history the most recant having been carried out by SB Race Engineering at 42,384 miles in November 2015.
