1950 Bentley MK VI H.J. Mulliner Saloon #B357GT. Delivered new in September 1950 through retailer Jack Olding to Mrs. Constance Muriel Gerhold - Angel of Virginia Water, Surrey, UK. registered LLP197. Her husband, William Henry Gerhold, had died the previous year and she was obviously well left behind. Virginia Water is part of the Wentworth Estate, one of the most expensive parts of the West of London area, which has attracted well known people as Bernie Ecclestone, Bruce Forseith, Elton John, Cliff Richard, to name a few. Mrs. Gerhold ordered her new Bentley to have a coachbuild body by H.J. Mulliner to their design 7220, one of 64 cars to be build with this body. Finished in Air Force Blue with matching Blue/Gray leather interior. Optional extra’s to be fitted to the car were a sunshine roof, bonnet locks, petrol door lock and a concealed bar in the rear of the front seats containing two silver topped hipflasks and four crystal tumblers, all with the car today. The car was sold at a point to Germany where the then owner participated in numerous rallies with the car. It was even taken to Morocco, where it has performed flawlessly. The car is in a very nice original condition, with largely original paint and original interior. It comes complete with all tools and a recent copy of the RREC chassis card and rare coachbuilder’s card.
